Still Image Asset Preparation: For use in Menu or still frames should adhere to the following specifications:
720 X 480 pixels per inch
72 dpi
Up to 8 Bit color depth
File Formats: Bitmap, Tif, Photoshop, (PSD)
Keep Photoshop Files in layers, "Un Rastered"
DVD Playback: Player Region Code: specifies what area of the globe the DVD player is made to play within. There are six regions worldwide. Depending upon producer’s discretion, regions can be opened or closed during the authoring process.
Player’s Television Format: Refers to whether the player reads NTSC or PAL video television standard. Nearly all NTSC (60 cycle, 30 frames, 525 lines) players cannot play PAL MPEG-2 files, or decode MPEG audio (used for PAL DVD standard). All PAL DVD players can playback both PAL (50 cycle, 25 frames, 625 lines) MPEG-2 files, MPEG audio, NTSC MPEG-2, and decode AC3 files, when used in conjunction with any PAL television manufactured after 1990, or any multi-system TV equipped with modified NTSC 4.43 (sub carrier), also known as 60 cycle PAL. This will allow for full color and full screen pictures of NTSC DVDs on PAL TVs.
